Two Reviewz
We've got two reviews in this week.
We'll start with another Last Pop Song review, this time with Ceremony.
The Last Pop Song
CEREMONY "DISAPPEAR"
In Washington it rains new publications! Like yesterday, already announced, here the second current release from the house of Safranin: Ceremony! Nearly one would like to say FINITE, we already longed for the official CD debut had waited. The release after their first CDR did
not publish that surprised at all now with Safranin landed, fits it nevertheless marvelously into the repertoire of the Shoegaze/Noisepop label of the former Alcian Blue musicians. Ceremony celebrate a spacigen, gitarrenlastigen Electronica sound close The Jesus and Mary chain, MBV and new order. Class and absolute worhty recommendation!
And a review for SVI's The Midnight Sun came in from Italy.
THE MIDNIGHT SUN EP
After several listenings all I can say is that this 5 tracks EP is a little monster of 90's psychedelia and synth-driven kraut'n'roll with vocals reminiscent of 80's synthpop. The duo (E*lectra Blue* and J. Sequential) spawn their sonic assault with guitars and electronic devices through those hellish Death By Audio pedals and effects (created by Oliver Ackerman - ex-Skywave now with A Place To Bury Strangers). This ep is out on the great Safranin Sound label - property of Alcian Blue and among the labels supporting the new shoegaze/nu-gaze scene. I bet SVI play a killer liveset and surely would be a perfect dj-choice for demanding dancefloors. All you could
ask for in a record.
