Starting tomorrow you will be able to pick up the bad-ass new single from Safe As Home.

Driven by layers of abrasive synths and walls of guitars, the gritty pop and shoegaze undertones of Grid constitute the first excerpt from SafeAsHome's forthcoming debut album.

The 6-track CD-R single includes exclusive remixes by Screen Vinyl Image, Torsion Fields, Pink Playground, E_S_D and Xinlisupreme, each artist blasting the original track into an edgy parallel reality of their own. Dreamscapes of mellow guitar distortion neighbor washes of static, feedback and harsh electronics, to be consumed one at a time or in a single full-length, full-on session.

200 hand-made copies, which can be dusted for prints...

We have a number of things in the works which will be announced shortly including upcoming Safe As Home single, an Antiques record, etc, etc... But for now. We are very excited to announce that Custom Made Music will be releasing a 10" split record with Ceremony and Screen Vinyl Image. Track listing and art is in the works but look for a summer release and you can check out two definite tracks on each bands myspace page... "Dream Only Of You" by Ceremony and "Deathdream" by SVI.

Unfortunately, Soundpool had to cancel the show due to reasons beyond their control.

but we have good news, Teething Veils (AKA Greg from The Antiques) is going to play the show with us, so you won't catch one, but TWO Safranin groups on Saturday right in our hometown area. Plus, it's the last Saturday show at the Galaxy Hut, AND if you haven't been there before, you will love their beer selection.

Dagger reviewed The Vandelles EP:

These cats (two guys and two gals) look like they hail from Los Angeles but they call NYC home. The Vandelles are the product of two previous bands that busted up, The Mercenary Gang and Del Black Aloha (don’t feel bad, I hadn’t heard of them either). Only 5 tunes here but this well-dressed bunch does one of the best Jesus and Mary Chain/Raveonettes dirty surf sound I’ve heard in a while.

Falling somewhere in the vein of Raveonettes and Psychocandy era JAMC, The Vandelles released their self titled EP a little while back last fall. The record opens with the dark haze of "Fever of the Beat," into the space blues of standout "Swell To Heaven," which comes off sounding like a mix between "The Hardest Walk," and "You Trip Me Up," from the Mary Chain debut. "Die For It Cowboy," continues on with static background noises and guitar flourishes, which combine with the bass and tambo to splash colourful sound all over this slow burner. Set to a wall of high end sound, things then get a little more mysterious with the Peter Gunn/ Spyhunterish "Lovely Weather," which includes an extravagant guitar outro. I've said enough to give you the picture. Just think Psychocandy with a little less Beach Boys influence, and you'll be right on track. Don't forget the secret tune at the end either.

Vandelles Reviewed in SEN (Baltimore)

Picture shoegaze with bleached-blonde highlights, cowboy boots and a duffel bag full of peyote hitchhiking somewhere on the western highways and you've got a pretty good image of The Vandelles. I'm pretty sure there's a surfboard to be found somewhere in this sea of sound on the Vandelles' EP, but I'm so bugged out by the gonzo go-go '60s surf guitar and the drum blasts on "Swell To Heaven" and " Lovely Weather" that it's just a bit hard to make out through all the distortion.

At times the vocals on this EP are too covered in reverb for my taste, but the fuzzy riffs that come from the pages of some pulp comic and the drugged-out art drone of the bonus cut following "Dead Wave" ends The Vandelles' EP on a particularly high note, riding the crest of a wave that won't come down before they come back with a full-length release
